Privacy Policy & Terms of Service

1. What we collect

When you create an account, we collect:

• Your email address and name
• If you sign in with Google, your Google profile information
• Your BOM lookups and project history (stored to provide the service)
• Basic usage analytics — which features you use, search queries

We do not collect payment information, phone numbers, or any sensitive personal data.

2. How we use your data

• To provide part search and BOM pricing features
• To save your project history and BOM runs
• To send transactional emails (password reset only)
• To improve the service based on usage patterns

We do not sell your data. We do not share it with third parties except DigiKey and Mouser APIs, which we query on your behalf to fetch part pricing.

3. Third-party services

PartTensor uses the following third-party APIs:

• DigiKey API — for part search and pricing data
• Mouser API — for pricing and stock data
• Google OAuth — optional sign-in via your Google account
• Anthropic Claude API — for AI-powered part analysis

Your search queries are sent to DigiKey and Mouser to retrieve results. They are not stored by those services under your identity.

4. Data retention

Your account data is retained as long as your account exists. You can request deletion by emailing us. BOM run history is deleted when you delete a project.

5. Security

Passwords are hashed using SHA-256. Authentication uses JWT tokens with 7-day expiry. We use HTTPS for all connections. The server is hosted on DigitalOcean in a secured environment.

6. Terms of service

By using PartTensor you agree to:

• Use the service for lawful purposes only
• Not attempt to abuse or overload the API
• Not scrape or automate requests beyond normal usage
• Accept that pricing data is provided for reference — always verify with suppliers before ordering

PartTensor is provided "as is". Pricing data comes from DigiKey and Mouser APIs and may not always be current. We are not liable for purchasing decisions made based on this data.
